Range Standing Orders
- Immediately on entering the Range Premises every person shall sign the Range Attendance Register
- Member’s Club Id Cards must be worn at all times whilst on the Range Premises
- The red warning flag is to be flown at the Main Gate and outside any Range being used, prior to the commencement of any shooting
- Shooting not to commence before 8.30am and must cease at 5.00pm – except for Air Pistol which is unlimited
- A Range Officer must be appointed for the designated firing line prior to the commencement of shooting
- Whilst shooting, unlicenced and junior shooters are to be under the direct supervision of a designated licenced Club Member.
- Unless in use at the firing line, all guns are to be secured in their container and not left unattended
- With exception of IPSC and Western Action / Single Action matches, loaded guns must not be placed on the firing bench or tables
- Guns and magazines must be cleared and in safe condition by the designated Range Officer
- All guns must be cleared and in safe condition by the designated Range Officer prior to any person moving forward of the firing line.
- The designated Range Officer shall remain at the firing line to safeguard the weapons whilst these personnel are forward of the firing line
- Immediately prior to the removal from the firing line, all guns must be cleared and iin safe condition by the designated Range Officer and boxed in his presence
- Ear and eye protection must be worn by all persons whilst shooting and ear protection by all visitors / spectators within the confines of the firing area
- The minimum standard of dress which must be worn for safety reasons whilst shooting is; short sleeve shirt / t-shirst, shorts, trousers, kilts, dresses, enclosed footwear with normal socks – not ankle type socks
- NO CAMOUFLAGE CLOTHING OF ANY SORT MAYBE WORN ON THE CLUB PREMISES – except cadets of the Defence Services whilst undergoing official training , and their respective officers
- Holsters may only be used on Range D and CANNOT be worn outside the confines of that Range , even if empty. Police Officers are exempt of this rule.
- Holstered weapons are not to be worn unless actively engaged in a designated holster match at the firing line and under direct supervision of a Range Officer.
- Licenced shooters must be accredited to use a holster and must clearly wear their accreditation card whilst shooting. NO CARD – NO SHOOT
- No unlicenced shooter or the holder of a Minor’s licence shall be allowed to wear a holster
- NO shooter is allowed to use semi-automatic pistol from a holster unless approved by the committee. These weapons must be used from the ‘ready’ position. Police are exempted from this rule
- No unlicenced shooter or holder of a Minor licence is allowed to use semi-automatic centre-fire pistol
- Only official club targets are allowed to be used on these Ranges. Any other targets, tin cans etc are not allowed.
- You must obey, without question, any order given by a Range Officer whilst at the firing line
- On the command “CEASE FIRE” or “STOP” – IMMEDIATELY stop shooting and await the next instruction, keeping the firearm pointing in a safe direction
- No person shall touch or handle the firearm of another person without the owner’s express permission, or the permission of the Range Officer
- Children MUST at all times be under the strict control of their parent or guardian whilst on the club premises
- Solo shooting is strictly forbidden on the Ranges except in Range E Air Range
